Learning a Different Pace
For a long time, my writing here became a place where I processed a lot of what I was going through.
The separation. The confusion. The weight of holding too much for too long.
Lately, I’ve been quieter.
Not because things stopped happening but because something started settling.
I’m learning how to take care of myself in ways I didn’t before.
I started therapy.
I hired a cleaner.
I’m trying (not perfectly) to work less on weekends and after hours.
I’m allowing myself to rest without immediately feeling guilty.
I’m letting some projects wait when I don’t have the energy for them.
None of this sounds dramatic. But for me, it is.
Because for years, pushing through was my normal.
Rest felt like failure.
Slowing down felt irresponsible.
Now, I’m trying something different: balance.
Some days, I still feel overwhelmed.
Some days, I still catch myself slipping into old patterns.
But instead of judging that, I adjust.
I communicate a bit more with my kids, and with my clients.
I try to make space so no one feels neglected… including me.
It’s not a perfect system. It’s a work in progress.
But it feels more sustainable.
More honest.
More like a life I can actually live in.
And maybe that’s what healing looks like—not a big moment, but a series of small, steady choices that slowly change the way you move through your days.
